And surprisingly, it’s not a fandom-themed look today. Halloween is my favorite holiday, yet I wanted to dress up without feeling like I’m in a costume. In fact, I’m in a costume quite a few times a year as a cosplayer, so dressing up for Halloween leaves me with the feeling of having a full closet and nothing to wear. But seeing Boohoo‘s incredible selection of affordable, fun Halloween fashion got me into a spooky mood. And my first mini swing dress. For someone who thrives on showing a defined waist (I carry most of my weight in my back and midsection. Apple shaped with broad shoulders, I suppose?) this was definitely out of my comfort zone. And quite scary. Appropriate for the holiday.
I will say though, that despite this outfit scaring me, it was very comfortable to wear. Naturally, heeled boots hurt after a period of time, but as far as these went, I was pleased. The only aspect about this outfit I’m not a big fan of are the spider web tights. Unfortuantely, Spirit advertised as one size fits most…and I do not qualify as most. They were much too tight over the thighs and didn’t have a high enough rise, so I wouldn’t repurchase these at all. But as I love fun, patterned tights, I’ll be on the lookout to build my collection elsewhere.
Have a delightfully spooky day! I’ll be spending it with my Jack-o-Lantern dates. They’re always up for bargain hunting and will hold my bags without a fuss.
